A sold out dinner once again! 82 guests, 1 table of 8 - 1 table of 6 - 3 tables for 4 - and 28 tables set for 2...  We got to pair up with Chef Jeni and Co. for the 3rd year! 

Jenna, our Events Coordinator, got to meet up with Chef Jeni to perfect the menu with wine pairings a few days prior to the event. Chef Jeni decided on an "Around the World" theme to the menu. 

Chef Jeni took our tastebuds around the world... I want to go back!!! The pairings were perfect and the food to die for.

I love it all. The decorating. The last minute details. Dressing up. The people. The amazing food and wine. The complete chaos of the countdown. Champagne. Ball drop. Confetti. Everywhere. Love. It. All. Thank you for another amazing night!

We hosted our first ever Lobster Boil Thursday, June 18th in the vineyard under the pergola! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful evening to dine in the vines... Uncle Ed's Specialty Meats and Catering was there boiling the shrimp, potatoes, sweet corn, and lobster right on site while Billy Lurken was on the guitar helping to create the perfect atmosphere for relaxation and some great conversation. The meal was perfectly paired to our, yet to be released, 2013 Traminette-crisp, citrus and floral. We are definitely looking forward to having a lobster boil as an annual celebration of summer! 

Our Valentine's Day couldn't have been any sweeter thanks to the lovely couples, families and friends that chose to celebrate love with us at Calico Skies Winery, February 14, 2015! 22 tables for 2, 6 tables of 4 and 1 table of 8 all glowing with candles, pink carnations, baby's breath and balloons and love.

The theme was pink and "sweet"! Precious carnations trimmed each guest's gold charger atop a white doily while balloons and Baby's Breath added to the magic. We also crafted a love coupon at each setting for something to take home.  A glass for white wine, a glass for red wine and a sugar rimmed champagne glass awaited each guest.

I did not get a picture of every course this year, unfortunately, but each one was splendid! Our guests sat down to a glass of champagne to start the evening off while enjoying each others company and being serenaded by Elisabeth Hunstad and Matt Hastad, our musicians for the evening. 

Cheers to another amazing Perfect Pair Valentine Dinner! Thank you to all of the sweethearts, family and friends who attended this year. Another spectacular NYE celebration is in the books! Thank you to all who came out to help make it so special! No confetti popper spared and no champagne bottle left to pop, Calico Skies party goers, we know how to ring in the new year...

We were contacted to put on a concert in dedication to the daughter of Jessica and Adam Weischedel, Edith Auburn of Sioux Falls, SD. On the morning of October 28, 2014, Jessica and Adam went into labor on her due date. An emergency c-section was needed and Jess awoke to her sweet daughter born asleep. The doctors weren't able to resuscitate her and she passed before she took her first breath. Edith Auburn was born 6 lbs 15 oz. 20 inches long with a head full of dark beautiful hair. 

Adam reached out to us to see if we would be available to host an intimate acoustic show in Edith's name as a benefit for the, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Organization. The NILMDTS organizations is committed to assisting parents and families experiencing early infant loss. NILMDTS connects families with voluteer photographers who donate the gift of infant remembrance photography.

We want to thank everyone who came out to the Acoustics for Angels concert! It was such a beautiful evening filled with so many talented musicians and amazing guests. We had a fantastic turnout at 146 guests and musicians who all helped raise $1,100 for the NILMDTS Org. We would also like to thank special guests, Dr. Moran (Director of Catholic Family Services as well as the Director and Founder of the Center for Grieving and Loss), Amy Daws (Author of Chasing Hope, a Mother's story of Loss, Heartbreak, and the miracle of Hope), and Emily Eggebraaten (Emily Eggebraaten Photography and representative of the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep organization), Chef Dominique's Catering and Banquet Facility for the amazing food and service, and Carolan Rental & N-Flatable Fun for donating the stage. So many inspiring people were involved in this event, thank you!
